WHAT I LOVE MAKING...
Creating a design object out of pieces of glass, directly into the mould, allowing my hands some kind of freedom/independence, and placing myself as an observer/critic, loving the result, or not, and just dismantling and reassembling until satisfaction occurs. I turn the kiln on and maybe, just maybe, tomorrow warm art will emerge and make somebody happy.

ABOUT NUNO
“I started studying chemistry.
Ballet also.
Stained glass, soldered with lead and tin.
I tried many paths, before finding my own.
Today I grab bits of glass with open hands, cut them with everyday intimacy, draw with them the objects I make.
By-the-book technic get me impatient and I remake them. What I look for… not perfection but freedom. Textures in glass can have more beauty than transparency or shine. Shapes admit irreverence, the dismantling of usefulness, anti-ergonomic design. Useless utensil. Just because I feel like it, because I had a dream that day, because it was nothing like this, but after all… yes!
After all, I continue studying chemistry, and ballet, and glass.”
